What’s up everyone?! I’m backkkk! ☺️ I’m so excited for this post today and hope you guys love it too. This week I wanted to do some type of routine/recommendations. I tried to think of a good topic for this , especially with the situations going on right now. I couldn’t do clothing stores yet because we can’t go to the malls right now. Didn’t want to do make up, I haven’t been wearing much staying home. And then I thought skin care. All of us are home, all of us have the time, and all of us are always looking for new ways to improve our bare skin. I always find it astonishing to find out girls call a night time routine , washing their face with a little Dove soap….
I love skin care. I love trying new products, finding something that works for me, and recommending things to others. I enjoy it so much I even went to esthetician school not too long ago. Now I’m the girl everyone comes to for skin questions. I love being able to help others fix their concerns, and find a routine that works for them. Not everyone’s skin is the same, all routines are different and will benefit your skin and most likely your skin only. It’ll take some time to find the right routine for you , but in the mean time here’s my nighttime routine and the best products for my skin!!
(My skin type: Sensitive , spotty acne , skin discoloration, dull , oily t-zone, Skin type II )
1.) Remove Makeup with Neutrogena Makeup Wipes
Out of all these wipes, you’ve got to go with these , and the blue ones! I know everyone has their preferences and theres a bazillion choices (trust me I’ve tried). These wipes give me the best results when removing my eye makeup and help with the harder to wash areas like my neck and ears. These wipes are always so moist (I know, sorry. lol) and remove almost all your face makeup after a long night out. (My savior on my drunk “take off makeup” nights)

Recommendations: None. I gotta swear by these…sorry sis 😬

2.) Pre- Cleanse with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm
If you’re the type to find yourself with makeup residue on your pillow case , make up wipes , and clothes the next day. A cleansing balm is your fix. I was always the girl waking up with raccoon eyes, and marked pillow cases. No matter how much I scrubbed and washed I still needed this extra step. I didn’t learn about pre-cleansing until I went to esthetician school and tried one of their pre-cleansing balms. A cleansing balm really gets in there and breaks up the make up and dirt off your face like butter. This allows for a better cleanse when you go in with your face wash next. This IT cosmetics balm not only smells great but a little goes a long way with this product. After initial application it leaves a sheer film to the skin , but after a quick wash with your everyday face wash it really helps bring all that leftover makeup down the drain.

Recommendations: I’ve only tried the IT cosmetics balm, and love it! I’m always looking for new products to try, if you have any recommendations. Please comment down below!! 😊

3.) Wash face with CeraVe Sensetive Face Wash
A quick wash with any face cleanser that works for you, day and night! I’m constantly switching between face washes so my skin never gets too accustomed to the wash and gets different benefits every new bottle. I always find myself coming back to this CeraVe face wash, not only because of the easy access at the drug store and cheap price , but how gentle it is on my skin. Always make sure you get a good lather of the cleanser and massage into your face using your fingertips. I always sing happy birthday inside my head for how long I should be washing my face, and focus more on my oily areas with the extra time.

Recommendations: Korres Greek Yoghurt Foam Wash , Fresh Rose Cleansing Foam (Both sold at Sephora or through their websites)

+3.) Exfoliate
I added this step as a plus because you don’t want to exfoliate every day. Too much exfoliation is bad for the skin and can leave you irritated and dry. I try to exfoliate 1-2 times a week when I feel my skin really needs it. I used to never exfoliate but the way it leaves your skin feeling after is just *chefs kisses*. When using an exfoliating wash, remember to not be too rough massaging it into the skin, and NEVER use St. Ives!!!!
Recommendations: The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel (THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!! Your skin will literally just rub off, in the best way 😂) , Clinique Exfoliating Scrub
4.) Tone with Heritage Store Rosewater Toner
I swear by this toner , WOW. This product is so natural and easy on the skin. I was using so many toners that stung my face and left me looking like a tomato and burning like fire. A lot of toners caused me to break out and left my face feeling tight and dry. This toner is so cooling and light on the skin. Smells amazing and leaves your skin so refreshed. It’s also a plus that you can pronounce all the ingredients and know it’s beneficial to your skin.

5.) Serum
Most of the steps in this routine are set in stone until the product is empty. Serum’s for me are always interchangeable. All serums are different and provide different benefits to the skin. Whatever my skin is needing that day, I either mix a few serum’s together, or use the best serum for that skin condition. When applying the product use the tips of your fingers and press it into the skin. Rubbing serums in doesn’t allow the product to really penetrate the skin and give you the best benefits of the serum.
Recommendations: fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Juice Antioxidant Serum , Truly Mary Jane CBD Glow Serum , GLOW RECIPE Pineapple-C Bright Serum , fresh ROSE Deep Hydration Oil Infused Serum
6.) Under-eye Cream with First Aid Beauty FAB SKIN LAB Retinol Eye Cream
Dark circles are my enemy and under eye bags are not designer here… I’ve struggled so much with fixing my dark circles and haven’t found the IT product for me. This First Aid Beauty product hasn’t knocked my socks off with changes, but I also don’t feel my money was wasted. It’s hard to decipher whether an under eye product truly works, there are so many factors to our eye areas, and they tend to be temperamental to fix. I know sometimes dark circles are hereditary, or from exhaustion and lack of sleep. But for me I just can’t get the dark circles right , I’ll try any product to help. I also try to do some type of eye mask, or under eye patches 2 to 3 times a week. Recommendations are greatly appreciated. 😫

7.) Moisturize with MILK Vegan Milk Moisturizer
After a long day of wearing make up and removing it all from my skin, my face feels absolutely dehydrated. Depleted of any moisture, and screaming for help. I love any type of thick, cream moisturizer, for me it makes me feel that it’s hydrating my skin a lot more (just preference). When I first tried the MILK moisturizer I was iffy and unimpressed, after a few days of using and seeing the affect it has under my makeup, I’m sold. I’ve also been getting into water moisturizers, and I’m not 100% sure how I feel about them yet. I have a Philosophy one that I’m about to try once this MILK moisturizer wears out, maybe I’ll keep you guys updated?? When using moisturizer I always make sure to apply generously to my face and down my neck. Using upward motions and avoid dragging the skin downward to prevent sagging.

There you have it! 😁 Those are my seven essential steps to my nighttime routine. I also like to incorporate face masks after a night of long make up wear, or just for a little self-care. (I plan to do a face mask recommendation post , so keep a look out for that) I make time to exfoliate in my nighttime routine and incorporate Lymphatic dry brush techniques to my face and neck. My night time routine is ever changing, and I’m always looking for new products and favorites. Trust me. There’s an entire drawer in my house just full of skin care products waiting to be tested and recommend.
Hopefully you all enjoyed this weeks post and take something from it whether it’s a skin tip or new product. I’m here to be helpful. 😊 There always seems to be a billion products on the market and I can never seem to settle on one. So if I can save some you money knowing a product is or isn’t worth it , is a plus for me. As always thank you so much for sticking around and I hope you will come back to read more. I’m always open to new ideas and topics you’d like me to cover , and here to answer any questions.
Until next time beauties ,
B💕
